Chris & Christine

I’ve never had yet witnessed a wedding where everything went absolutely right and perfectly on schedule to the second without the help of a professional wedding planner.

Christine and Chris did it all by themselves! Not only they managed to plan a big beautiful wedding in the heart of the Old Port Montreal, they also did it long distance from Boston!

The ceremony took place at the Chapelle de Bonsecours in the Old Port. It’s a small, but extremely old and beautiful church.  They only conduct five carefully selected weddings ceremonies a year. We also got a chance to climb 70plus steps to the tower of the church to take some romantic pictures.  The view was spectacular!

The Reception was located at the “Scena” with the beautiful view on the water and the old Port. Alain Simon, the florist, made the place magical with his decor: the big centerpieces, the placement cards hanging from the branches, the big tree growing from the head table. It looked like a fairytale!

The story of Christine and Christopher can be a perfect plot to a love comedy.

Chris and Chris, besides the name had much more in common: they were both born in Montreal, grew up in West Island in the same area, they lived a couple of streets apart from each other, went to the same playgrounds, coffee shops, parks, practically had same friends, never ever met.

Both of them grew up and left the city of Montreal. Chris got a job offer and moved to Boston, soon after Christine moved to Boston as well. They still did not meet.

Then one day Christine’s friends decided to visit her in Boston and she took them on a sighting trip around the city.  They went on a boat ride in a beautiful lake full of pretty ducks. The weather was gorgeous and the girls had a lot of fun. Then a young guy sitting next to them started a general conversation with Christine.  Of course, who could resist a charming smile?

“So… Where you are from? Montreal? Oh… me too!

Just moved to Boston recently…me too.

Where did you say you lived in West Island? Me too!!!”

“What a silly pick up”-thought Christine, but the handsome stranger kept on describing all the places in West Island pretending that he knew the area…stealing Christine’s full attention away from her friends. Yes! That how the two lovebirds met: on a romantic boat in the middle of the lake surrounded by the ducks and cupids.
