Destination wedding in Cuba

Destination weddings are always so special to photograph.  Getting married on the beach with the sound of the ocean, with a little breeze in the hair and feet in the send is so romantic.  This exotic adventure is what attracts lots of couples to travel so far to declare their love for one another.

Lena and Michael live in Moscow, Russia. The happy couple decided to have a destination wedding in Cuba only one month after Michael officially proposed.  The wedding was very small:  the bride, the groom, a couple of friends and a big tasty cake. The couple was enjoying the wedding and the honeymoon at the same time. After the wedding, they are planning to return to Moscow for a big family and friends party.

The love story of Lena and Michael

The love story of Lena and Michael began three years ago. They worked at the same office for a very short period of time, just enough to meet each other. When Lena changed the job, they continued being friends; doing lots of activities together. Then one cold, rainy evening, Misha spent hours in traffic and rescuing Lena’s car from towing,  she chose to join her saviour under his big umbrella. From that day he understood that there was a woman he wanted to care for and protect for the rest of his life.

Getting married on the beach is very picturesque, but believe it or not its not very easy to photograph especially if it happens in the middle of the day when the sun is right above and very harsh.  Harsh direct sun creates strong dark shadows on the face that are not very flattering, so its best to be under a shade. There was a beautiful white tent on the beach build specially for wedding ceremonies, but it did not have any rooth, so the sun was coming right through the tent on the faces of the people, and for some reason the hotel refused to put a piece of white material on top of the tent. Our genius solution was to take a huge king size white bed sheet from our room and to put it on top, it played beautifully on the wind and created the protective screen from the harsh sunlight.  The destination wedding in Cuba images came out gorgeous!

Later on the same day we took a beautiful white antique car to the city of Varadero and spent some amazing time taking pictures around the city and on the beach. Since there were no big reception party to rush too,  Lena and Michael enjoyed the photo session to its fullest. They were running, jumping and singing on the beach.  We had an amazing time! The destination wedding in Cuba was a dream the came true!
