The Surprise wedding

Kevin is a busy doctor, Melanie is a police officer. They’ve been together for over 10 years and have two wonderful kids.
Suddenly, Kevin had this crazy idea to plan a surprise wedding for Melanie.

The question was how to make sure that Melanie likes and approves the idea without knowing that it is for her own wedding!
Here’s how the plan was elaborated!

Step one: The Wedding planner at the Golf St Raphael wedding

One day Kevin and Melanie were watching TV and there was a show about wedding featuring the wedding planner Maryse Noel. “If we ever get married, I want her to plan it” said Melanie. Therefore Kevin secretly contacted Maryse and they have been working together on the surprise for over a year. They were meeting in secret all the wedding suppliers and planning the special day. Maryse solved the problem of the hall, decor, florist, photo and video making this Golf St-Raphael wedding the most gorgeous event!

Step two: The Guests at the Golf St Raphael wedding

Kevin asked Melanie to prepare a list of people she would like to invite to her 30th birthday party, simply transferring that list to a wedding instead!

Step three: The Menu

This one was the most challenging in planning this Golf St-Raphael wedding. Kevin invited her for a dinner to Golf St-Rafael, the secret place chosen for the wedding reception, to test the food. Choose a menu as if it was for their mutual friend’s event.

Step four: The Dress

This was the most difficult one. How to make a girl to choose her wedding dress without telling her she’s getting married?
Why not a fashion photoshoot? For this one, I contacted Elegant Wedding magazine that in turn contacted Melanie for a fitting of a wedding dress for their next issue. That way Melanie chose her own dress. Then we scheduled the photoshoot for Elegant Wedding early in the morning of the wedding day.

Step five: The Video at the Golf St Raphael wedding

Kevin wanted to film the whole process, so he told Melanie that on her birthday, he is giving her a Love Story about how the two of them met.
Gleb (our cinematographer) filmed the Love Story prior to the wedding day and then added the proposal with a surprise invitation to Melanie’s own wedding.

For all the other little details, mutual friends helped asking Melanie casually about important wedding details.

The day before the wedding, Melanie called her friends to find out plans for Saturday and they all tell her that they are going to hairdresser! All at the same time?!? Very suspicious! Being a police officer, Melanie started suspecting that Kevin is planning out her a birthday party…

On the wedding day, I mean Elegant Wedding photoshoot… we are all extremely excited and stressed out at the same time. At 8:30am Melanie came in at our studio for the fashion photoshoot. The makeup artist did her makeup and hair, we put on the wedding dress and start the shoot… All while Kevin is waiting outside; just behind the door. He slowly walks in, all dressed up properly, proposes to her and with a ring, gives her a wedding invitation that says that the wedding is… TODAY!!!
