Parents at wedding make photos look very emotional

A wedding day is a big celebration for the parents, because they succeeded in raising wonderful children who now in turn start their own family.  They are overwhelmed with different emotions: pride, happiness and even a little nostalgic feeling.

Of course there is a time in the wedding schedule for formal family pictures, but nothing compares with a real moment captured on the fly.  The wedding photographer is there to tell the story of the unfolding big day, capturing moments  and expressions as they happen.

Throughout the day of the wedding, a delicate line between the past and the future is walked by the grandparents, parents and their children. It is never easy for parents to let go, although the real emotions that accompany this moment make for some of the most dramatic moments of the occasion.  It’s of the utmost importance for the photographer to capture moments with reactions of the parents at wedding in the morning, at the ceremony, as well as during the reception.

It is often a moment during the event when it finally sinks in for the parents. Could it be the reaction of the father as he walks his daughter down the aisle? Or perhaps when it finally dawns on the parents as they dance? More often than not, the gravity of the entire day will impact the parents most immediately after the ceremony concludes. This time presents great opportunities to capture real emotions in the many hugs, smiles and tears expressed by the parents, grandparents and their children.

Intimate moments between the betrothed and their parents can be spiritual moments and hence require a similar touch when being captured by the photographer. We have to be fast, respectful and also completely in the moment in order to convey the emotions she seeks to capture. A photograph of a bride dancing with her father during the first dance is a sensitive moment which may be marked by an emotionally overwhelmed father struggling to contain his emotions and even tears. When the parents see their daughter in a wedding dress for the first time and move in closer to console her.  This provides yet another memorable moment of the parents at wedding  not to be missed.

Throughout the wedding day, we will keep their eyes on the parents  and grandparents to be able to capture the moment when emotion sweeps over their tender faces.  With a little finesse, a good wedding photographer is able to get the emotional shot without being obtrusive.
