When you walk into a colourful room, you can’t help but feel the affect it has on people. Rajinder and Amrit opted for traditional bright colours for their wedding, and it brought families and friends together in a beautiful day.
Colourful Dresses, Colourful Couple
The two met at a restaurant in Toronto on Amrit’s layover from the Bahamas. Raj saw Amrit and decided to take a shot and say hello, but she ended up giving him a fake name and her junk email address. Somehow he eventually won her over and the two became officially engaged onSeptember 8th, 2012. Even though sometimes we don’t know someone special is special, we always seem to figure it out somehow. The two of them love cooking and shopping together, and were excited to spend more of their lives together as a married couple, not getting the chance to spend as much time as they wanted to before.
And the Proposal?
Raj planed a romantic proposal at Niagara Falls, but Amrit was stubborn about staying in the car. Poor Raj, not able to change the cold weather, proposed in the car instead. A little while later their two families met, and that was the day it began to feel official.
Tears of Love, Tears of Joy
Even as Amrit was leaving her house on her way to the ceremony, there were tears shed. Such a beautiful bride dressed in her family dress. Her hands were covered in complex henna, and was so colourful you couldn’t look away. The celebration continued at the Embassy Plaza Reception Hall with Jaggo Performers and lots of laughter, the room was bright with happy faces and a mix of traditional and pop music, keeping roots in their culture and staying contemporary.
