Romantic photo Session

Romantic Photo Session

Romantic photo session is a short session scheduled for the bride and groom to take pictures together. It; usually scheduled right after or sometime before the wedding ceremony.  We have assembled a couple of tips to keep in mind, so that everything runs smoothly!

First off, remember that the session will take approximately 1 hour. It’s a good idea to have that planned within the day. These are some of the most important pictures of the day and wedding photographer wants to give you the best results possible.  The one hour will give you and your wedding photographer the time to feel safe and relaxed without feeling rushed. And you images will come out incredible! You’ll even soon forget about the camera and the magic will begin to happen.

Plan ahead for a romantic photo session

Remember to schedule in the travel time it takes to get to the destination of your choice. If you’re not sure where you’d like the romantic photo session to take place, consider  a place in a proximity of the ceremony or reception location.  Often there’s some place on the way to the reception that is just perfect for pictures. However, don’t worry too much about the location – the romantic photo session is about you and your partner and as long as you feel comfortable, the emotions will shine through.  Some popular destinations are the Old Port and the Botanical Gardens.  However any garden will be lovely (even if it’s in your own backyard!). The streets of Montreal have so much culture in them,.  You have plenty of options to choose from anywhere in the city. If your reception hall has beautiful or interesting grounds, it may even be best to just drive there and take your time until the reception starts. This is definitely the most stress-free option. Choose whatever lies closest to you and your partner’s hearts.

Be Natural

As for posing posing for the romantic photo session, it’s all about being natural and seeing the raw emotions between you and your loved one.  A good and essential tip for the bride would be to take an extra pair of comfortable shoes. You may be walking on uneven ground or through the grass.  If you’re feeling uncomfortable you won’t have as much fun! It’s important to be as comfortable and dynamic as possible. It’s actually not really about “posing”, but rather just enjoying yourself on your wedding day. The photographer will take care of everything else. Having your romantic photo session before the reception is a great time as well, because you can spend a couple of moments alone before the crazy party begins!

During or after the reception, there may even be some time to sneak out and take some night pictures. The photographer can really get creative at night by using the lights to create interesting features in the photograph or even silhouetting you!
